LOS ANGELES—February 8, 2010—Cenoplex™, the company that is transforming customer care for wireless operators by harnessing the gap between call placement and connection, today announced that Lori Chee has been named executive vice president of marketing and client services. Her appointment is effective immediately.
As a seasoned marketing executive, Lori combines her passion for connecting customers to meaningful brands with cutting-edge predictive behavior marketing practices. For more than 15 years, her unique blend of on- and off-line strategies has fueled customer acquisition and retention in the telecommunications, consumer electronics, mobile and entertainment industries.
“This position required that we find an executive with a unique combination of mobile industry experience and acumen combined with cutting-edge creativity, and Lori absolutely had the exact right combination of skill set, enthusiasm and insight necessary for success,” said Gregory O. Welch, president and CEO at Cenoplex. “As an early adopter and proponent of combining classical brand development and product strategy with leading-edge online market segmentation, Lori is the perfect choice to lead our marketing and client services roll-out as we introduce Cenoplex’s pioneering services to wireless operators worldwide.”
Before joining Cenoplex, Lori served as chief marketing officer for kajeet, a mobile service and content platform for kids. During her tenure, she redirected retail distribution to create a more profitable e-commerce business model. Previously, she developed the brand identity, and identified strategic partnerships and distribution channels for ooma, a VoIP service as vice president of marketing. Prior to taking the marketing lead at ooma, Lori was the vice president of content distribution and marketing at MTV Networks, where she mastered the quick monetization, packaging and marketing of entertainment content for television, the Internet and mobile platforms for 15 music-related channels and drove brand loyalty via partnership campaigns with Comcast, DIRECTV, and TimeWarner Cable.
Lori also headed up the subscriber acquisition division at DIRECTV earlier in her career, leveraging key relationships with Best Buy, WALMART and Disney to drive market share and brand awareness. As a member of the founding team that established DIRECTV as the fastest growing consumer electronics product of its time, she led the company’s e-commerce efforts during the shift to a direct-to-consumer sales model.
With deeply honed experience in combining best practices from traditional companies with the flexibility, pluck and creativity of start-ups, Lori regularly advises and presents to venture-backed companies on how to target lucrative audiences and substantiate the company’s business model in order to raise additional capital.
