AUSTIN, Texas—May 19, 2011—Cenoplex™, the company that is transforming customer care for wireless operators by harnessing the gap between call placement and connection, has announced the appointment of Lance Ware to the position of chief technology officer. Previously the chief technology officer for Technicolor’s Electronic Distribution Services group, Lance has served as a member of the Cenoplex board of advisors since April of 2010.
“I’ve had the pleasure of working with Lance in various capacities over the last couple years, most recently in his position as a member of the Cenoplex advisory board,” said Gregory O. Welch, president and CEO at Cenoplex. “He brings the knowledge, experience and enthusiasm necessary to propel our development roadmap for Actionable Audio Message technology toward market driver status in the wireless industry.”
In his new role, Lance will lead all engineering and product development efforts on behalf of the company as it begins trials of its proprietary Actionable Audio Message technology with several North American wireless operators.
Welch continued, “Lance’s proven expertise in building and exiting a technology startup, combined with his deep ability to dissect and solve problems, will give Cenoplex the ability to more rapidly capitalize on the significant momentum we have with many of the top mobile operators.”
Prior to serving as chief technology officer for Technicolor’s digital supply chain platform for content ingestion, hosting, security, delivery and consumer fulfillment, Lance was the co-founder and CEO of SyncCast. The technologies and services developed under his guidance at SyncCast powered solutions for many distinguished companies including Microsoft, Billboard, Warner Music Group, The Motion Picture Association of America, Lionsgate Entertainment, NBC Universal, EMI Music Group and DirecTV. SyncCast was acquired by Technicolor in July of 2007.
Lance’s career in advanced media technology began at venture-funded Voxel where he served as the director of technology, working with the lead inventor and marketing department to successfully bring the company’s new technology to market. Subsequent to Voxel, Lance founded WareNet, Inc., an early leader in software-as-a-service and outsourced infrastructure.
He is well-regarded across the industry by both content owners (studios, labels, networks) and aggregators (e-tailers and retailers), and regularly speaks at events including NAB, CES, Digital Hollywood and others.
